Botswana Secures US$503.75 Million AfDB Financing for Economic Transformation

The African Development Bank approved a US$503.75 million loan, equivalent to approximately BWP 6.62 billion, for Botswana’s Economic Competitiveness and Transformation Support Program on 23 October 2026. The programme supports structural reforms, private-sector growth, skills development, and job creation, particularly for women and young people. Education institutions, consulting firms and training providers may find opportunities in workforce development, institutional capacity-building and programme implementation.
